The Vikhlop is the Contract wars unique sniper.

Overview

Unique sniper means that to unlock it you must either be very lucky with the Roullete or buying the "Unique Sniper Rifle" Skill in the Sniper Skill Tree.

Its a fairly recent addition to the armory, coming out the same day as the Saiga 12k full auto ( unique shotgun). The Vikhlop possesses the highest penetration in the game (80), making it useful against high armored foes, it's shot speed is also incredibly fast.

The scope is interesting as well, having an unique reload animation (Along with the M40), it also has a fast bolt action speed. It can hit targets at 265 meters at 200 damage before dropping off to 160 past that. Also capable of the fastest reload speed of any sniper, at 81 with +15 (mobility less than 50) and the assault and scout skills.
